As a Georgetown student, I have been privileged to work with dedicated professors and thoughtful peers who have shown me that there are many effective approaches to teaching and learning.  Learning from their examples and advice has shaped my own experiences as I venture into the classroom and strive to become a effective educator. As I have tutored, taught lessons, and run workshops I have learned from experience that not everything that looks good on paper works in practice. However, whether I was dealing with questions on the spot or creating an effective writing workshop, I know that my practice has been shaped by the theory I have explored. I hope that my teaching reflects the thinking and critical work that I have done and benefits my students as we work together to make writing matter.
